Mailbox

I finished up the mailbox/bell post. I'm going to plug the tube under the mailbox with one of the extra plugs that was left over from the weight rack. The name on the box was changed to protect the innocent.

I got the oil seals out of the fork leg - they came out hard but done just the same. I cleaned the sludge out of the bottom and I'll press the new seals in today. The order for the other pair will be here sometime in the next week. I need to figure out how much oil they take one of these days soon as well.

A little outside work is on tap for today again and maybe a little on the Sportster. This nice weather has been a real blessing when it comes to getting things done.

I have to drive 1 minute down a steep hill to the boxes where the post office delivers the community mail all at one place instead of having mailboxes at each house. I want my mail delivered to my own mailbox in front of the house. I would weld a bunch mailboxes back to back like a long tube going all way to the front door with a string tied to a tray with wheels. inside......

Actually, the only reason I put the mailbox up is because it belonged to the wife's grandparents and she didn't want it to be destroyed. My lane is almost 1/4 mile long, so I normally ride my bike down to get the mail, walk the dog down or if the weather is bad, drive. The mailbox will be for package delivery when the weather is bad. Maybe in the future the mailman can deliver your mail by drone.
